Perfect Pranks

April Fools Day. A day where people persistently prank their peers, play practical jokes and tell porkies in the name of fun. Although it was technically over when the clock struck midday – what’s the harm in remembering Eye Candy’s favourite pranks of the day and comparing them to last years’ valiant efforts?

Northeastern University in Massachusetts wrote an article on their website about the impending installation of ‘Text and Walk’ lanes for students so they didn’t bump into objects – or each other. Northeastern explained that the introduction of the lanes would provide students with alternative travel options and to prevent text-and-walkers from veering out of these lanes, they proposed barriers to be put in place… Sooo 21st Century!

Cheetos, the oh so tasty, yet oh so cheesy corn puff launched their debut fragrance – Cheetaux! Described as ‘a wafting whiff of pungent desire’, it sounds like we’ve had a stinky near miss with this one!

Dominos have finally introduced their best seller – The EDI BOX! Your favourite pizza inside a box of edible, doughy goodness. This gives a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘licking your plate clean’…

Innocent drinks were more on the naughty side this year. They replaced the icing inside Oreo’s with toothpaste, popped them all on a plate and watched, waiting for some poor, innocent person with a sweet tooth to come along and experience the minty cruelty.

Tesco were more on the fun side. They proposed the fabulous, Trampoline Aisles in order to help people on the shorter side reach the top shelf! Not only is this logical, but is there anything better than grabbing your favourite snacks whilst having a work out? I sure wouldn’t feel as guilty about buying that extra multi-pack of chocolate…They even got Lucy Mecklenburgh on board for the joke who said she thought people would ‘jump at the chance’ of testing them out.

Dominos did it again. They got those taste buds tantalised and those mouths drooling when they introduced the Domi-No-Driver! A driverless delivery vehicle, meaning that customers who use the web and phone app ordering service have the option of having their savoury delicacies delivered by a robot. The way our take-out is delivered has been revolutionised!

As fantastic as all these pranks were – our winner has to be Dominos. They dominated the prank-sphere in our opinion and we love pizza!

So, there we have it. Another year down.

Our advice? Stay alert until you wake up tomorrow and we’ll be here next year, ready to show off our favourite pranks in black and white.

Could you be on the list?
